The Centre has been a partner since 2012 with the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at McGill University and Tribal Nova in a digital media research and development project that focuses on interactive and participative reading on the iPad between pre-schoolers and parents. The project was funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council ( SSHRC) Canada. See http://digitalmediaprojectforchildren.wordpress.com/project/
The project findings will be part of the content featured at a conference in 2015
"Digital Literacy for Preschoolers: Maximizing the Benefits of eBooks for Emergent Literacy", June 26-27, 2015, McGill University, Montreal, Quebec. The initial list of speakers can be found at blogsite digitalmediaprojectforchildren.wordpress.com. World-class researchers will share their knowledge with both a research audience and a broader public of teachers and parents.
