Provincial/Territorial Adult Literacy Profiles

The Provincial/Territorial Literacy Profiles are intended to provide a “snapshot” of adult literacy funding, services and accountability practices across Canada as a means to build a better understanding of the state of the field and to support best practices in both literacy service provision and accountability.

Based on online research conducted between December 3 and 19, 2008 each profile is a reflection of the publicly available information about each province or territory’s adult literacy funders, providers and accountability practices. They were constructed exclusively on the basis of public information available online, from a variety of sources. No interviews with literacy funders, providers or practitioners were conducted in this process. The profiles should not be used for further research purposes without validation.

For a complete explanation of the methodology used in compiling the profiles please see the Methodology Statement.
