Publications

The Centre for Literacy produces several unique publications for literacy practitioners, researchers, policy-makers, and interested members of the community. These include the quarterly News from the Centre, occasional Working Papers on Literacy, a series of Research Briefs, and a variety of Annotated Bibliographies on topics such as technology, learning disabilities, and numeracy.

The Centre has also published reports detailing the activities and outcomes of an ongoing Health Literacy Project with the Montreal General Hospital (MGH) of McGill University Health Centre (MUHC).

Working Papers on Literacy

Our Working Papers on Literacy are occasional publications designed to stimulate discussion and debate around topics affecting research and policy. They are commissioned from international experts and new researchers, and are longer than a typical journal article. The Working Papers have enjoyed wide distribution, and have garnered international recognition with citations in both academic and policy documents.

This is a series of publications that summarize the latest research in topics related to adult literacy.

Annotated Bibliographies/Literature Reviews 

Our annotated bibliographies and literature reviews identify and provide summaries of core readings and other sources of information on topics addressed by the summer institute or through other projects of The Centre. They have been prepared for the benefit of practitioners, researchers and policy-makers who lack the time or the resources to undertake a full review of the literature.
