Summer Institute
The Summer Institute is an annual forum designed to encourage the free exchange of ideas and experiences among participants from all levels and factions of the literacy sector in Quebec, Canada and around the world. The topic of the institute changes each year in response to current trends and issues in literacy and basic education. Over the course of three days, participants are given every opportunity to share their work, learn about other projects and initiatives, form partnerships and work together to develop innovative programs and policies in the area under discussion. The Summer Institute has been a defining program of The Centre since 1990. In that time, The Centre has gained wide recognition and respect for its ability to identify and interpret trends and challenges facing the sector.
