The Summer Institute is an annual forum designed to encourage the free exchange of ideas and experiences among participants from all levels and factions of the literacy sector in Quebec, Canada and around the world. The topic of the institute changes each year in response to current trends and issues in literacy and basic education. It has been a defining program of The Centre since 1990. 

In addition to the annual Summer Institute, we have also occasionally held other institutes, such as the 2008 Health and Literacy Institute with Bow Valley College.
