HOW WE INTRODUCED THE EVENT

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Community-based groups already running or interested in starting writing circles in seniors forums, housing co-ops, youth programs, and similar settings.

Literacy educators/teachers interested in non-formal adult education.

Professional writers who recognize the bond between their love of literature and a need for the literary at all levels of society.

Members of the public interested in alter-native forms and venues for learning.

  • Neighbourhood Writing Alliance, Chicago

TWO OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE:

On Friday, April 23, on the program of Montreal International Literary Festival, at the Hotel Europa, 1240 Drummond Street, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Hear writers read their work and talk about the impact participating in writing circles had in their lives.

On Saturday, April 24, at Dawson College, Room 3F1, 4001 De Maisonneuve West, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Join round tables with each participating group to get concrete information from organizers and writers on how these groups were started , and on how you can start your own or add new features to groups already in place.

Fee: Non-student $10.00 Student $5.00
This includes refreshments and hand-outs.
